The Promised Land

Over the past 6 years I have absolutely fallen in love with the Baja Peninsula. I know I'm not the first nor the last to explore its dusty, deceitful, wave rich coastline, but when you're out there, sometimes you feel like the first - or the last. The Baja has been explored and trekked on for thousands of years. However, one turn off of Mexico Highway 1 will have you feeling like a 15th century explorer, and I like that. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for flying into Hawai'i and driving straight to my favorite reef break, but there's no comparison to trusting your instinct and finding a hidden jewel at the end of a winding dirt road surrounded by cactuses and carcasses. That's what the Baja is all about: adventure, exploration, uncrowded surf with a buddy and the excitement of the unknown. And sometimes you just gotta go. Ya know what I mean? See you soon my love. Or shall I say, hasta pronto mi amor.
