Dark Days

We've all heard the expression, "there's light at the end of the tunnel." Well, let me tell you that I'm in that tunnel right now and it's dark and evil and gnarly and scary and I don't see any light at the end of it. Even though I'm aware it exists, I can't seem to find it. I'd follow it, if I knew which way to go, but it's too dark to see. It's black and my eyes won't work. I'd reach out for something to grab on to, but this tunnel is empty. I'd follow my heart, but it too is black and diseased and unreliable.  So, for now, I'm stuck in limbo with nowhere to go and only myself and my thoughts to keep me company in this wretched passage. Come on light. Show me the way.
